A message from the Chair
The Hon Dr Kay Patterson AO, Age Discrimination Commissioner
It is my great pleasure to Chair the Collaborative Partnership on Mature Age Employment (the Partnership).
Mature age Australians have a valuable contribution to make to the workplace.
Research shows that employers speak highly of the skills and experience mature age people offer and particularly value their reliability, strong work ethic and communication skills.
We understand older job seekers who want to work may need assistance to modernise or transition their existing skillset to re-enter the workforce.
The partnership is working cooperatively, using data and the breadth of the collaborative members to increase the likelihood of older workers having appropriate work in their local area.
The Mature Age Employment hub has been created to provide assistance to both employers and mature age jobseekers and workers. I encourage you to utilise the tools and information available on this hub.
The Hon Dr Kay Patterson AO
Age Discrimination Commissioner
