The National Careers Institute (NCI) has released the latest edition of the School Leavers Information Kit (SLIK).
The SLIK “Your Career: What’s next for you?” helps young Australians discover their options and make decisions about their future after school. Whether they’re looking to jump straight into the world of work and use 2022 to build their career, or pursue further study and training through university or vocational education and training, or still deciding what to do next, the SLIK can help.
It contains information on different study options, funding support that might be available, taking a gap year and volunteering, and tips for applying for jobs. The SLIK also has localised information for each state and territory so students can be sure they’re getting the latest and most relevant information.
Also available is the School Leavers Information Service – a free service which offers personalised career support to young people. All Australians aged 15-24 can have a free, 45-minute phone session with a qualified career practitioner to talk about career planning, training and further study, and looking for work. The service can also help young people understand and use the SLIK, find the right support services for them and use the Your Career website.
