Employers across the nation will be contacted in coming weeks to find out how staff are trained and how effective this training is at meeting on the job skills needs.
Around 9,000 employers will be surveyed as part of the 2021 Survey of Employers’ use and views of the VET system conducted by the National Centre for Vocational Education and Training (NCVER) on behalf of the Australian Government and state and territory governments, with funding provided through the Department of Education, Skills and Employment.
NCVER is the main provider of research, statistics and data on Australia’s VET sector. Its services help promote better understanding of VET and assist policy makers, practitioners, industry, training providers, and students to make informed decisions.
The survey takes approximately 10 minutes to complete and will run from February to June.
It covers training undertaken in the previous 12 months and provides information at both national and state levels, as well as by industry and business size. This year will also have additional questions about the impact of COVID-19 on the way employers have trained their staff and their future training plans.
The results of this year’s survey will be published in late 2021.
