On 25 November 2020, Minister for Employment, Skills, Small and Family Business, Senator the Hon Michaelia Cash and Assistant Minister for Vocational Education, Training and Apprenticeships, The Hon Steve Irons MP announced three newskills project hubs to support better, faster training for the mining sector.
The hubs will deliver better training and faster assessment to ensure the mining sector has access to the skills, training and workforce it needs to continue playing a key role in Australia’s economic future.
The hubs are an initiative of the Mining Skills Organisation Pilot, which is helping improve Australia’s training system to respond to industry skills needs.
