Introduction from Yasmin Allen, Chairman of Digital Skills Organisation
Introducing the panel is Yasmin Allen, Chairman of Digital Skills Organisation, and non-executive director at ASX, Cochlear, Santos Ltd and the National Portrait Gallery. In addition, Yasmin currently holds positions as the Chairman of Faethm AI, Harrison Riedel Foundation and advance.org, and is a member of the board of The George Institute for Global Health. Her previous directorships include IAG Limited, EFIC (Australia's Export Bank) and she is the former Chairman of Macquarie Group's Global Infrastructure Funds.
Tom Moore, CEO and Co-Founder at WithYouWithMe and Digital Skills Organisation Board Member
Tom Moore is the CEO of WithYouWithMe (WYWM) and has previously held executive roles with Mentorconnect and OneAffiniti, a digital marketing agency, following service with the Australian Army. WYWM is a military veteran training and outplacement company, founded by veterans to train veterans to fill skills gaps in industry. WYWM was launched in December 2016 to promote and support the outplacement of veterans looking to transition from the military into civilian life and employment in the private sector. One sector of focus for WYWM is cyber security. WithYouWithMe is named as number one on the 2019 Asia Pacific Technology Fast 500™.
Will Stubley, CEO and Co-Founder at Year 13
Will Stubley is passionate about the transition period from high-school to further education and employment. Utilising his engineering background, Will is responsible for product development, research and strategy at Year13. He has been involved in a number of Government initiatives, including in 2016, directing the development of a strategy for the Australian Government's Department of Employment regarding effective communication with young people. He regularly speaks at events about engaging with youth, and is the author of Year13's highly publicised 'After the ATAR' research series.
Melanie Stirling, COO and Director of KIK Innovation
Mel is the COO and Director of KIK Innovation, a social impact organization focused on providing education and employment pathways for everyone and combating youth unemployment. KIK is embarking on a new exciting initiative to bring an innovative global software engineering school to Australia, known as 42. Mel’s background and passion is in the design of innovative, industry led training and education models and is passionate about providing education and employment opportunities for all and believes; that everyone can be great.
Catherine McGrath - Moderator
Catherine McGrath is a policy, engagement, and advocacy expert and in-demand facilitator. She is a giant of the Australian media and the founder of the BusinessSpeaking training program that support and train professional speakers across the country. Catherine also provides media training to leaders and executives in the private sector and Government agencies. During three decades of reporting, Catherine was political editor for both the ABC and SBS television and was the ABC’s South East Asia Correspondent based in Singapore. Catherine is a recipient of the Centenary of Federation Medal for Services to Society through Journalism and the ABC Reuters Foundation Scholarship to study international affairs at Oxford University.
