Job description

Tasks involved:

  • Assist in the preparation and serving of meals and the day-to-day running of the kitchen.
  • Keep up to date with and meet the needs of client dietary requirements.
  • Work closely with kitchen operations and personal care teams.
  • Follow safety and hygiene procedures.
  • Communicate respectfully with clients, their families and work colleagues.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods or long shifts.
  • Ability to use manual handling equipment (tray stackers they use to transport meals).

  • Satisfactory police check

  • Life and workplace skills training tailored to the role.
  • Accredited training in using hygienic practices for food safety.
  • A site tour and a buddy shift at the UnitingSA West Lakes Aged Care facility.
  • Mentoring to support your success during the project and at employment commencement.
