Workforce Australia Services Provider Performance Ratings

The Department publishes provider performance ratings to show how organisations delivering Workforce Australia Services are performing.

On this page:

Providers deliver services under one or more licences. Each licence is assessed separately and receives a single overall performance rating, supported by ratings for individual performance measures. There are 169 active licences.

Performance ratings are published quarterly.

The pages below include background information and Excel spreadsheets showing provider performance ratings from the reporting period ending 30 June 2023 onwards.

What do the ratings mean?

  • High – Performance exceeds expectations
  • Moderate – Performance meets expectations
  • Low – Performance is below expectations and needs improvement

A Low rating does not stop services. Providers with a Low rating are required to improve performance.

Overall performance results

At the end of March 2026, based on up to 12 months of performance data:

  • 11.8% of licences (20 licences) received a Low overall rating.
  • 1.8% of licences (3 licences) were not reported, as they commenced delivering services from 1 July 2025 and do not yet have sufficient data for assessment.
  • 0.6% of licences (1 licence) did not meet the Licensing Standards pre-requisite.

How are overall ratings calculated?

  • Each provider delivers services under one or more licences. Ratings are calculated at the licence level.
  • For each licence, performance is assessed against a set of measures grouped into performance areas (modules). A rating is calculated for each module, which is then used to determine the overall licence rating.

Evidence notes and limitations

  • Ratings are based on available and eligible performance data for the reporting period.
  • Some measures or modules may be excluded where there is insufficient data or where measures are under review.
  • New licences are not rated until performance data is sufficiently mature.
