Changes to myHELPbalance access
The way students access the myHELPbalance website has changed.
From 29 April 2026, you will need a Digital ID (myID) to log in.
This change strengthens security to keep your personal information safe and streamline access. By using myID you can access the myHELPbalance website securely without needing to enter your personal information to log in every time.
You may already have a myID if you access services such as myGov. If you have a myID then you do not need to create a new one. Although you will need to link myID to myHELPbalance when you log in using myID for the first time.
You will need your Unique Student Identifier (USI) or Commonwealth Higher Education Student Support Number (CHESSN) and your student ID to link with myID.
To continue to use the myHELPbalance website, you will need a standard identity strength in myID. If you do not already have a myID, you can set it up now by visiting How to set up myID on the myID website.
From 29 April 2026, you will not be able to access the myHELPbalance website until you have set up myID.
