The Department of Employment and Workplace Relations (DEWR) is leading consultation on the development of the Secure Australian Jobs Code (Secure Jobs Code).
The Australian Government is committed to ensuring a dynamic and inclusive labour market in which Australians have access to safe, secure and well-paid jobs.
Under the Buy Australian Plan1 the government committed to establish the Secure Jobs Code to prioritise secure work in government contracts and ensure government purchasing power is being used to support businesses that engage in lawful, fair, equitable, ethical and sustainable practices.
DEWR has released the Secure Australian Jobs Code consultation paper which seeks feedback on the application, implementation and compliance arrangements of the proposed Secure Jobs Code, to ensure government expenditure is driving better outcomes for Australian workers without creating unnecessary red tape for businesses.

DEWR invites stakeholders make submissions responding to the questions raised in the consultation paper.
