Trades Recognition Australia’s Skills Assessment Services Procurement

The Department of Employment and Workplace Relation (the department), purchases skills assessment services to support TRA’s Job Ready Program, the Offshore Skills Assessment Program and the Temporary Skills Shortage Skills Assessment Program.

Trades Recognition Australia Request for Tender (ESE24/1125) will support the continued provision of TRA’s skills assessment services.

The Request for Tender was released to AusTender on Monday 30 June 2025.

All details surrounding this Procurement are available via AusTender.

To support procurement planning, the department conducted a number of virtual webinars between 29 and 31 October 2024 to consult with Registered Training Organisations that have scope to deliver Australian qualifications and/or assess experience for TRA assessable occupations (PDF).

The webinars outlined proposed changes to the way the department contracts and manages skills assessment services and skills assessment service suppliers. They also collected feedback from participants on these changes to inform the department’s planned procurement process.

Participation in the webinars was not mandatory and did not provide participants any right, advantage or benefit in any future procurement process.

The webinar recordings along with the slides and script used for the webinars and questions submitted during the webinars are available below.
