Resources to support VET students with disability
The Australian Disability Clearinghouse for Education and Training was engaged to research and consult with the VET and disability sectors to develop a comprehensive range of resources to assist small to medium RTOs to be more inclusive of people with disability and mental health conditions.
These resources include practice guides, practice illustrations, templates and supporting resources across topics such as pre-enrolment, enrolment, transition from school, reasonable adjustments, participation and accessibility, progress and completion and practice improvement and reflection.

Resources to support students’ mental health and wellbeing
These resources have been developed to build the capacity of RTOs to support student mental health and wellbeing in the VET sector. The resources provide helpful information and guidance to support conversations and provide referrals and information for students.
Resource to support assessment of students' foundation skills
The Principles to Guide Foundation Skills Assessment, developed under the National Foundation Skills Strategy 2025–2035, provide good practice guidance to support a nationally consistent approach to assessing prospective learners’ foundation skills prior to enrolment in training.
The principles are designed to be used flexibly across adult and community education (ACE) and VET settings and can be applied to different types of foundation skills assessments, including identifying learners’ foundation skills capabilities, suitability for training, and support needs. The principles are intended to promote good practice and do not replace existing assessment processes or regulatory requirements.
