The Department of Employment and Workplace Relations publishes data about the people participating in the Self-Employment Assistance program.

An issue has been identified in the July 2025 and August 2025 Self-Employment Assistance publications. The two column headings for ‘Exploring Self-Employment Workshops’ and ‘Small Business Coaching’ in the "Self-Employment Assistance" sheet were inadvertently switched resulting in incorrect engagement data for these services. This issue has been corrected in the latest release, and the affected previous publications have also been updated.

The Self-Employment Assistance program delivered by the Department of Employment and Workplace Relations can help you turn your business idea or existing small business into a viable business.

The department publishes a range of data items related to the people who participate in this program, including:

  • Sex by age groups
  • Indigenous Australians
  • People With Disability
  • Culturally And Linguistically Diverse
  • Refugee
  • Allowance Group – JobSeeker Payment
  • Allowance Group – Youth Allowance
  • Allowance Group – Others
  • Partial Capacity to Work
  • With Declared Earnings
  • Education – less than Year 12
  • Education – Completed Year 12
  • Education – Non-School qualification
