Today, the Commonwealth Ombudsman released the second report on the Targeted Compliance Framework and the cancellation of social security participation payments under 42AF(2)(d) of the Social Security (Administration) Act 1999.
I thank the Ombudsman for his insights and recommendations.
The department has accepted the recommendations in the report, as they pertain to the department. As with the Ombudsman’s first report (PDF), some of the recommendations are a shared responsibility between the department and Services Australia. The department will continue to work in partnership with Services Australia to ensure a holistic, system-wide and effective response to the recommendations.
