Submissions open for the Closing Loopholes Review

The Review of the Closing Loopholes Acts is calling for submissions from all interested stakeholders. Submissions close on 3 March 2026.

The Government has combined the reviews of the Fair Work Legislation Amendment (Closing Loopholes) Act 2023 and the Fair Work Legislation Amendment (Closing Loopholes No. 2) Act 2024 into a single review, the Closing Loopholes Review.

The review will also further consider the effectiveness of the paid family and domestic violence leave entitlement legislated in the Fair Work Amendment (Paid Family and Domestic Violence Leave) Act 2022.

The Hon Amanda Rishworth MP, Minister for Employment and Workplace Relations, has appointed Ms Susan Booth to conduct the review.

The review is seeking your views on:

  • whether the operation of the amendments is appropriate and effective
  • any unintended consequences of the amendments
  • whether further amendments of the Fair Work Act 2009, or any other legislation, are necessary to improve the operation of the amendments or to rectify any unintended consequences that are identified.

How to lodge a submission

You can lodge your submission through Consultation Hub by 3 March 2026.
