Workplace Agreements Database

Providing data on developments in coverage, wage increases and conditions of employment included in collective agreements.

On this page:

The Workplace Agreements Database provides data on developments in coverage, wage increases and conditions of employment included in collective agreements.

We maintain and operate the database, which is the only one of its kind in Australia. There are currently 160 000 agreements on the site. An average of 6000 agreements are added each year.

The database contains general details about agreements, including:

  • sector
  • ANZSIC (Australian and New Zealand Standard Industrial Classification)
  • duration
  • number of employees covered.

The database contains wages information relating to all public and private federal enterprise agreements, which have been certified or approved since the introduction of Enterprise Bargaining principles in October 1991. It also contains wages and conditions information for all federal enterprise agreements certified or approved since 1 January 1997.

The database also contains details about conditions of employment contained within enterprise agreements. This includes:

  • individual flexibility arrangements
  • redundancy provisions
  • superannuation
  • leave entitlements
  • training.

Request data

To request data from the database, fill out the data request form.

We will review requests on an individual basis. We reserve the right to approve or decline data requests.

We encourage and respond to customised data requests from external stakeholders. From December 2017 onwards, we will share the data prepared for customised requests with other parties on request. This helps to build an evidence-based understanding of issues about the content of enterprise agreements and provide the public with wider access to Workplace Agreements Database data.

We do not publish the original requestor's information or the purpose of the request.

Access the dataset

The database enterprise agreements dataset is available to approved users for research purposes.

The complete dataset allows approved users to conduct their own analytical research into workplace agreement matters.
