Employment Services Reform

The Hon Amanda Rishworth MP, Minister for Employment and Workplace Relations, addressed the National Press Club today to announce a once-in-a-generation reform to employment services. Minister Rishworth said that the current one-size-fits-all approach to servicing in Workforce Australia means too many people are missing out on the opportunity to find suitable employment.

Australia’s employment services system can do better for individuals, for the community, and for the economy. A new service model will be introduced to provide tailored employment services to support the diverse needs of individual jobseekers. A more responsive service that connects people to the right support at the right time, and improves pathways to secure, well-paid employment.

Employment services reform includes redesigning service delivery, triaging, planning, mutual obligations and provider incentives.
