The Transitioning Workforce Fund is part of the Australian Government’s Supporting Worker Transition Through Energy System Changes program. It provides project funding to support local workforces in specific priority regions impacted by the closure of coal and gas-fired power stations and their supplying coal mines.

The Transitioning Workforce Fund is designed to help communities, business, industries, governments and unions address local concerns and build local capability in priority regions. It supports workers and communities adapt in regions undergoing change.
Current open tenders
Transitioning Workforce Fund Hunter Region (Hunter TWF04)
The department is currently seeking proposals for the Hunter region of NSW under three priorities, identified through the Hunter Worker Transition Advisory Group.
Three priorities for the Hunter have been identified by the community, and proposals are sought for services that address any of these.
The priorities are:
- supporting jobs and skills pathways for First Nations people
- enhance the community’s awareness, understanding, readiness and participation in the workforce energy transition, and
- strengthening pathways into emerging industries.
