The Government is undertaking consultation on proposed reforms to the Fair Work laws to better understand the views of stakeholders and the community.

The timeline above provides an overview of the consultation process to date.

A broad range of stakeholders participate in consultation, including business, industry, unions, state and territory government officials and other stakeholder groups, with representatives attending consultation meetings and providing written submissions.

Submissions were received in-confidence by the Department will remain confidential. No submissions will be published.

Following the passage of the Fair Work Legislation Amendment (Secure Jobs, Better Pay) Act 2022, the department undertook consultation on measures included in the Fair Work Legislation Amendment (Protecting Worker Entitlements) Act 2023 in early 2023.

From February to June 2023, the department undertook public consultation on measures for consideration in the second half of 2023.
