Local Recovery Funds

A Local Recovery Fund is available in the North and North Western Tasmania region for projects that meet the priorities identified in the Local Jobs Plan.

Projects will be identified for funding through periodic Request for Proposals (RFP).

Please contact your local Employment Facilitator for information about the Local Recovery Fund and to discuss project proposals.

Activity Name Organisation Local Recovery Fund Activity Partner Description
The Brumby Hill Northwest Regional Mobilisation Project Brumby Hill Aboriginal Corporation Max Solutions Pty Ltd This activity provides intensive ‘wrap around’ support and pre-employment training to 30 participants receiving services from an Employment Services Provider and are from the local Indigenous Australian community in the North West coast of Tasmania. The activity assists participants to obtain work experience and placements with culturally safe workplaces and includes education and tailored post-placement support and input from their Employment Services Provider. Through engagement with the activity, cultural competency of employers and Employment Services Providers in the region and their future capability to effectively engage this cohort, will be improved.
Care Industries Training to Employment Pathways Community Care NESB Inc CVGT Australia This activity provides accredited and non-accredited training to facilitate employment in the home care sector as a personal care attendant or domestic service worker and provides targeted training of host organisation staff to support participant placements through ‘Care to Lead’.
The activity supports 30 participants to engage in a taster program ‘Dare to Care’ to facilitate understanding of the aged care sector. Suitable participants undertake either ‘Introduction to Care’ or ‘Introduction to Aged Care Domestic Services’ pre-employment training. 
Participants completing ‘Introduction to Care’ or ‘Introduction to Aged Care Domestic Services’ and seeking to become a Personal Care Attendant will be supported to enrol in a Certificate III in Individual Support. 
Staff who complete ‘Care to Lead’ will provide participants who gain placement with supported induction, coaching and mentoring to assist in their retention.
Waverley Local Jobs in Textiles     Waverley Mills Pty Ltd CVGT Australia This activity aims to improve the textile manufacturing skills and knowledge of participants and provide pathways to employment with Waverley Mills and the textile manufacturing industry. The activity will recruit a minimum of ten participants to undertake non-accredited training in textile manufacturing including general sewing machine use, cutting, introduction to fibres and fabrics and foundation skills. Designed to assist the unique needs and operations of Mills and provide direct pathways to entry-level employment, the activity will also deliver a workplace trainer program to upskill a minimum of four existing Mills supervisors to assist them to mentor and coach staff in manufacturing including new textile recycling techniques.
