The Australian Government is committed to establishing the Secure Australian Jobs Code to prioritise secure work in government contracts.
This would ensure that government purchasing power is being used to support businesses that engage in lawful, fair, equitable, ethical, and sustainable practices.
What does this mean?
The government expects suppliers who are providing goods and services for the operation of government are held to high standards, are contributing to the shared goals of Australia, and are doing the right things by workers. Suppliers meeting these standards should be recognised.
