Meetings of Work Health and Safety Ministers involve Ministers responsible for work health and safety from the Commonwealth and each state and territory meet to discuss and advance WHS matters of national importance.

These meetings support the operation of the Inter-Governmental Agreement for Regulatory and Operational Reform in Occupational Health and Safety 2008 (WHS-IGA). The WHS-IGA commits all Governments to work cooperatively to harmonise WHS legislation via the WHS laws and establishes the operation of Safe Work Australia as an independent statutory body. Generally, a two-thirds majority of WHS Ministers is required for amendments to the model WHS laws.
