As the national regulator for Vocational Education and Training (VET), the Australian Skills Quality Authority (ASQA) is conducting an ongoing program of investigation into poor quality and fraudulent training providers.
ASQA has cancelled the registration of a number of training providers and, where they have found qualifications have been issued without the appropriate training or assessment, cancelled the qualifications the providers have issued. As the program continues more cancellations may occur.
To ensure the integrity of the VET sector and to protect the public, ASQA has cancelled qualifications in a range of industries including early childhood education and care, aged care, disability support, construction and automotive.
ASQA is committed to lifting quality and integrity across the VET sector and the integrity of qualifications is a primary focus.
ASQA is working collaboratively with other government agencies and state and territory governments and regulators to support those affected.

New funding to intensify ASQA’s enforcement activity
The Australian Government will invest $4.7 million in 2025-26 for ASQA to undertake a surge in enforcement activity to immediately respond to large-scale fraudulent issuance of VET qualifications. This will bolster ASQA’s capacity to take further action to mitigate public safety risks, safeguard the integrity of VET qualifications, and protect the reputation of Australia’s VET sector.
