Job description

Tasks involved:

  • Preparing surfaces and apply coatings using conventional, airless, and plural component spray systems
  • Mixing paints to specified colours, consistencies, and manufacturer instructions
  • Conducting abrasive blasting operations in accordance with safety and environmental standards
  • Carrying out masking, sanding, scraping, etching, and burning of surfaces as required
  • Maintaining an organised and hazard-free work environment, adhering to housekeeping and waste disposal standards
  • Performing equipment maintenance checks and report faults promptly

Prerequisites required:

  • Must pass a police check
  • Must attain a base level security clearance
  • Must pass a medical screening including drug and alcohol testing
  • Language and literacy skills for reading instructions, writing orders, recording results and communicating with different audiences
  • Numeracy skills for interpreting and using mathematical information, estimating timeframes and scheduling tasks, calculating costs and recording findings
  • Be fit and healthy for physical work. Work may involve confined spaces, heights, repetitive tasks and wearing full personal protective equipment including ventilated helmets/masks
