Release of updated Procurement Connected Policy (PCP)

Australian Skills Guarantee

From 1 October 2025, the Skills Guarantee PCP Version 1.2 will apply new national targets to eligible procurements in the information and communications technology (ICT) sector.

The Skills Guarantee was introduced on 1 July 2024 with the PCP Version 1 applying to eligible Australian Government construction and ICT procurements with an estimated individual value of $10 million or more. It leverages the Australian Government’s purchasing power to help address skills shortages and gender segregation in the construction and ICT sectors.

From 1 October 2025, the updated PCP Version 1.2 will be implemented. It outlines set targets for apprentices, trainees, other types of learning workers and women that apply to eligible procurements in the ICT sector.

There are no changes to targets for existing major construction projects.

An updated range of resources is available on the website to help Australian Government contracting agencies and suppliers guide the management of eligible projects and meet their requirements.
