Roles

  • Employment is permanent full time at 38 hours per week
  • Trainee’s probation starts at $30.84 (Monday to Friday) per hour for the first 6 months, then increases to $32.46 per hour. Penalty rates apply for Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays

The virtual information session for candidates will take place from 10:00–11:00 am ACDT on Friday 24 October 2025.

The face-to-face information session will take place in Adelaide city, from 10:00 am–3:00 pm ACDT on Tuesday 28 October 2025.

Job description

Bus Operators are responsible for providing passengers with a safe, efficient, and smooth bus experience and excellent customer service.

The employer is looking for people who have:

  • a high standard of presentation with a passion for customer service
  • the ability to work autonomously and as part of a team
  • good communication skills
  • a good driving history
  • the ability to be flexible and work all required shifts of the position
  • preparedness to participate in a comprehensive training program

Prerequisites required

  • Be at least 19 years of age.
  • Current and valid South Australian driver’s licence.
  • Hold a Class C (car) driver’s licence for at least 2 years (including “P” plates).
  • Physically fit to work, weigh less than 120kg (or commit to maintain their weight below this standard).
  • Competent language literacy and numeracy (LLN) for reading route maps and rosters.
  • Willingness to undergo a medical examination and meet the required medical standards for the position.
  • Willing to undertake a national police check and a working with children check.
