Fair Entitlements Guarantee claim assessment
Assessment of claims under the Fair Entitlements Guarantee (FEG) will generally follow four stages:
- claim validation
- claim assessment
- recommendation about your eligibility
- claim decision.
We use the Fair Entitlements Guarantee Act 2012 (FEG Act) to assess claims. The FEG Act sets out the eligibility requirements for the FEG and other matters relating to financial assistance to cover certain employee entitlements available under the scheme.

After a decision has been made about your claim, we will notify you in writing of the outcome. The outcome letter will outline:
- the decision
- the reasons for the decision
- your rights to have the decision reviewed.
We may, at our discretion, initiate a review of a FEG decision if satisfied there is a reason to do so. You also have the right to apply for an internal review of a FEG claim decision. Most internal review decisions are open to further review upon application to the Administrative Appeals Tribunal.

If, after contacting us to discuss any concerns, you wish to make an application for internal review, the easiest way to do so is using FEG Online Services. To make an application online simply register with FEG Online Services (if you have not already done so) and complete your review application. If you are unable to lodge your review application online, you can submit a paper based application. The Review application form can assist you with this process.
