DEWR guide to accessing and correcting personal information

There are a number of mechanisms you can utilise to access and correct your personal information held by the Department of Employment and Workplace Relations (the department), including under:

  1. the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) (the Privacy Act);
  2. the Freedom of Information Act 1982 (Cth) (the FOI Act); or
  3. an informal administrative arrangement.

The purpose of this Guide is to provide you with some information on how you can go about seeking access to your personal information using these mechanisms and your options for correcting that information in the event that you consider the information to be inaccurate, out of date, irrelevant or misleading.
